In 2005, a group of young people participated in an eight-month program as part of NextNB, a public policy initiative. Through the experience they witnessed first hand challenges such as out-migration, economic development, regionalism and poverty.
They realized that the one sure way to make a significant, long term impact was to develop leadership skills in the province's young people - it's future leaders. They also knew there were many promising young people willing and able to contribute to the province's prosperity, they just needed the right opportunity and support.
So they created 21inc.
Its purpose is to tap into this latent energy, developing and inspiring New Brunswick's new and emerging young leaders. 21inc focuses on young people in their 20s and 30s from all sectors, providing them with the tools, networks with peers and established leaders, and confidence to become effective 21st Century leaders.
Our model is simple: we draw upon the collective knowledge and experience of established leaders and each other to develop the country’s best leaders. Together with established leaders we are forging a dynamic community, building a culture of innovation, learning and opportunity.
